Here are just a sample of the many comments we recieve from thankful parents.
From Dolores Pierre of Miami Shores:
"Dear Heroes Unite,
I just wanted to say, how grateful I am for your program. I have seen a huge improvement in my son's reading.
His teacher told me that he ranked top five in his class, in Reading, for the FCAT practice. To hear him say
"Mommy I made a B!" and to see the pride that filled his face, is a parents dream come true. He is excited to
explain to me, the "Tricks" to reading comprehension, that his tutors have taught him. It tells me that they
show him different ways of learning, and he in turn, puts that to use. Since being in the program Nikita's
confidence level has shot up tremendously, which is a beautiful thing...I feel confident that with the help
of Heroes Unite, my son will be successful academically for many years to come."
From Quayny Porter-Brown, Subject: Deepest Thanks
"Dear Alice,
Thanks so much for your words -- we admire your work so much, and respect your dedication, professionalism,
and talents (multiple). We see what an impact you are having on our community, and how many young lives you
are giving purpose to. Great work. It is late and I am quite tired, but I wanted to say thanks for the
opportunity to work with you on the play, and thanks for your patience with our acting skills (or not!)
It was very challenging and fun at the same time! The children learned so much and felt a sense of
accomplishment I know they will not forget. I am so happy to have had the chance to help with all the others
and to get to know them. What a great group -- even the difficult ones! Our friends all commented on how
professional the play was -- and especially how well rehearsed -- they said the kids looked comfortable and
seemed to be able to be on stage with ease and poise. I will share more later -- many great compliments --
in person. Thanks SO MUCH!!!! Love, Toe, Mo, Mushu, and Tiger"

"As a facilitator of knowledge I believe in enriching the classroom environment, as it is critical to
have the ability to relate with youth by strengthening student confidence, self-esteem, and knowledge—embracing
the social student as well as the “whole” student as a learner. In my work to implement a variety of
instructional strategies to meet each student’s needs, I've found that the creativity of Heroes Unite programs
is a great fit conducive to high achievement and overall success, preparing students for responsible citizenship
by encouraging development of emotional intelligence and important life skills, which create a safe and caring
learning community."

From Mr. L.T. Byrd, Director,
Lower East Side Young Designers Club,
New York City
"Teaming up with Heroes for our public arts initiative, 'Art In the 'Hood', gave a significant boost to the
efforts, productivity and morale of our members. The kids had a blast participating in community service with
their Florida counterparts, and both organizations benefitted from the collaboration. I was impressed by their
dedication and creativity and inspired with new ideas for future activities. I would do it again in a heartbeat."
