To actively strengthen and connect communities utilizing the disciplines of art, culture and education.

We are committed to serve the less fortunate, to contribute to a safe, healthy, conscientious and more productive society.

Since 1994 we have provided programming, projects, and events which empower individuals to create value within each community.

We began supporting families from Ronald McDonald house who are emotionally taxed as they stay with their terminally ill children during treatment. We offered healing therapy to siblings, parents and patients, enabling them to experience the joy of participating in theater productions performed at three public venues. We implemented the same strategy with AIDS patients, performing vignettes at various centers.

By 1998 the Victory Over Violence group began providing our traditional Chinese arts empowerment program, teaching self-defense and self-esteem to families of domestic abuse living in shelters. In 1999 we broadened our scope, inserting this concept into our after-school program, to transform the lives of children through the discipline and focus required to master the ancient teachings of Chinese martial arts. We anticipated that the valuable lessons learned would transfer strength to other areas of their lives... and they have.

From that modest beginning Heroes Unite has grown to include over 500 students in its program. The children in Heroes Unite would never have dreamed that they could come so far through their hard work, discipline, and perseverance. As a result of engaging in the world of art, culture and education, the students' expectations of themselves, and their hopes for the future, have changed dramatically. Participants have become honor roll students and award-winners, gaining entry into prestigious schools and clubs.
